Zoo Trip

Earlier this week we went to the Wellington Zoo as part of our topic for this term. Kim met us there and had organised activities for us. We visited the tuatara and the kiwis, the green zoo where we learnt  about conservation and where we planted a tree.  We visited the penguins but didn't see them as they were busy in their box making a nest  After lunch we walked around the zoo and saw lots of other animals. We had an awesome visit to the zoo.

Happy 100 Days to us!!

Today Rooms 3 and 4 celebrated being at school for 100 days in 2014.

Here are the children in Room 3 who began school on day 1 this year so have been at school for exactly 100 days.

We did a lot of activities together, based around the number 100.

• We shared our collections of 100 things. What a lot of different things there were. 
• We made crowns
• We made bright stars and put 100's around the edge. (Mrs Morgan took all the 1000's out of the sprinkles!!)

 

• We read stories about 100 days at school.

• Our fitness this morning was different ways of moving in groups of 10 steps until we reached 100. 
• We began writing a list of 100 words.
• We counted to 100 in 1's and 10's
• We tried to build a structure out of 100 paper cups (not always very successfully!)
   
  
  

  

  

  
  

  

100 Days

Rooms 3 & 4  have been counting the days we have been at school this year and on  Friday 25th July, it will be 100 days.

We are going to celebrate this event by doing some activities based around 100.

One of these activities will be sharing collections of 100 objects. We are asking each child to bring a collection of 100 items e.g. hairclips, stickers etc. in a sealed container. We look forward to sharing a wide variety of collections (we know you are all very creative!).

Character Parade

What a fun way to end the term! The school council organised a book character day for us with a quiz and a parade where we all showed off our costumes.  We all looked great  and really enjoyed ourselves.
